Game 7 Preview: Flyers at Devils

Updated: Jan 28

The Flyers will try to recollect themselves as they prepare to face the New Jersey Devils for the first of back-to-back games. As of Tuesday, both teams currently sit in 3rd place in the East Division with seven points apiece.

This divisional game tends to be a snooze-fest with both teams playing conservatively, but after their embarrassing loss on Saturday to the Bruins it'll be interesting to see if Alain Vigneault tries an aggressive approach with his gameplan. Devils goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood is on the COVID-19 Protocol list, so the Flyers will have to face Scott Wedgewood. This should make Flyers fans relieved, but it seems like the Flyers always have trouble when they have to face a team's backup goaltender.

Prediction

Tonight Claude Giroux becomes the longest-tenured captain in Flyers history (based on games played). He'll mark the occasion with a two-point performance.
