Game 9 Preview: Flyers vs Islanders

The Flyers will try to put together their first winning streak of the season as the New York Islanders come to Philadelphia for a back-to-back over the weekend. The Flyers played arguably their best team game of the season in their 3-1 victory over the Devils on Thursday night. Now it's time to see if they can string together a few games in a row with consistent effort across the board.

The Islanders come to Philadelphia sitting in 7th place in the East Division (3-4-0), while the Flyers currently sit in 3rd place (5-2-1). A team coached by Barry Trotz isn't going to stay at the bottom of the standings for long. The Flyers should obviously know not to overlook this Islanders team that booted them from the Toronto bubble in the summer. They need to do everything they can to come out with four points this weekend to try to keep the Islanders towards the bottom of the East.

There will be some changes to the lineup for tonight's game. Phil Myers is off of IR and is expected to be in the lineup. There is also an expectation that Travis Konecny will be a healthy scratch, and Sam Morin will make his LW debut.

Oskar Lindblom will have his first three-point night of the season.
