The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have nominated Oskar Lindblom for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
The award is presented each season to the player who best exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication. Lindblom showed his perseverance and dedication to the sport when he came back to the game after being treated for Ewing's sarcoma.
Lindblom was a finalist for the award last season, but lost to Bobby Ryan of the Ottawa Senators. He is a likely favorite to win the award this season. Here's a look at the rest of the nominees from each team.
